Arnaud Lagesse is the Group CEO of IBL Ltd, the largest business group in Mauritius. He is one of the prominent leaders of the Mauritian private sector and has been known to drive the IBL Group he leads with innovative and challenging undertakings. Two years ago, he initiated the merger of GML Investissement Ltée and Ireland Blyth Limited, creating a successful group and substantial shareholders value for all stakeholders since its introduction on the local stock market.

Arnaud Lagesse holds a Master’s degree in Management from the Université d’Aix-Marseille, France, and graduated from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion de Paris. He attended an Executive Education Programme at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, an Advanced Management Programme (AMP180) from Harvard Business School, United States, and a Breakthrough Executive Programme with Egon Zender-Mobius in Portugal. With an early career as Finance & Administrative Director, and over a decade in a CEO position, his core competencies are Business and Finance, Deal Structuring and Strategic Business Development.

Arnaud Lagesse is the Chairman of Fondation Joseph Lagesse since July 2012. He has also assumed in the past the Chairmanship of the National Committee on Corporate Governance in Mauritius, of the Chamber of Agriculture, of the Mauritius Sugar Producers’ Association and of the Sugar Industry Pension Fund.

Prior to the Group’s restructuring exercise in April 2018, Arnaud Lagesse has served as Director on the board of Alteo Agri Ltd (previously known as Alteo Limited) from 1995 to April 2018, and has also acted as Chairman thereof from August 13, 2013 to June 24, 2015.

André Bonieux is an Associate Chartered Accountant of England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds a BA Honours in Economics, Politics and Sociology from the University of Hull, UK (1980). He worked at Coopers & Lybrand, in London, between 1980 and 1986 before returning to Mauritius as a Manager at Julienne & Co (now EY). Between 1987 and 1989, he was the Assistant General Manager of Corona Clothing Co Ltd, then moved to Kemp Chatteris (now Deloitte) where he was a Partner from 1989 to 1996. Between 1996 and 2018, André Bonieux was a Partner of Price Waterhouse/PwC, Senior Partner since 2007 and Chairman of PwC’s Africa Board between 2014 and 2018.

During his time at PwC, he was head of Transactions, essentially PwC’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice. He has extensive knowledge of the sugar industry through a number of consulting / advisory assignments over the years, particularly in energy and corporate restructurings.

Jan Boullé is an ‘Ingénieur Statisticien Economiste’ (France) and holds a ‘Diplôme de 3ème cycle de Sciences Economiques’ from Université Laval, Québec, Canada. He has been working for the Constance Group from 1984 to 2016, and occupied various executive positions and directorships, his latest position being Group Head of Projects and Development. He has been appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman of IBL Ltd on July 1, 2016 and is also a member of the Board of Directors of several major companies of IBL Group.

Jan Boullé also serves on the board of Alteo Agri Ltd (previously known as Alteo Limited) as Director since 2012 and following the Group’s restructuring exercise in April 2018.

Patrick Chatenay holds a Masters degree in Econometrics and a B.A. in English from the University of Paris, a Diploma in Public Administration from the Political Science Institute of Paris and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. He has been involved with the sugar industry since 1985 when he joined Saint Louis Sucre, the second-largest sugar producer in France, as Director for Economic Analysis. As part of his responsibilities for Saint Louis he acted as Assistant Managing Director of Azucarera Ebro, the largest Spanish sugar producer, and as a board member of IANSA, the Chilean sugar producer and food processor. In 1990 he was appointed to Saint Louis’s Executive Board where he was in charge of strategic analysis, data processing and management accounting, and on which he served until he left the company in 2008. From 2003 to 2008, Patrick researched investment opportunities in the Brazilian sugar/alcohol industry for the Südzucker Group, following its acquisition of Saint Louis in 2000.

Dipak Chummun was appointed Executive Director and Group Chief Finance Officer for Ireland Blyth Limited on January 1st 2015 and Group Chief Finance Officer of IBL Ltd on July 1st 2016.

Jean-Pierre Dalais joined CIEL Group in January 1992 and is the Group Chief Executive of CIEL Group since January 2017, overseeing all Group operations. He was formerly Executive Director at CIEL, focusing particularly on the development of the Group’s Hotels & Resorts, Financial Services and Healthcare clusters. Before that, Jean- Pierre was the Chief Executive Officer of CIEL Investment Ltd and graduated with an MBA from the International University of America, San Francisco, and previously worked at Arthur Anderson (Mauritius and France).

Prior to the Group’s restructuring exercise in April 2018, Jean-Pierre Dalais has served on the board of Alteo Agri Ltd (previously known as Alteo Limited) as Director, from 2014 to April 2018.

P. Arnaud Dalais has been a director of Alteo Agri Ltd (previously known as Alteo Limited) from 1984, and acted as its Group Chief Executive from November 1991 to June 2015. He was also the Chairman of the board of Alteo Agri Ltd from June 2015 to April 2018. Under his leadership as Group Chief Executive of Alteo Agri Ltd, the company had gone through an important development both locally and internationally. He has led his team to successfully conclude the amalgamation of ex-Flacq United Estates Ltd with and into ex-Deep River Beau Champ Limited, which has been renamed Alteo Limited, and thereafter Alteo Agri Ltd, following the restructuring of the Group in 2018. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Alteo Limited from April to June 2018. P. Arnaud Dalais has a profound knowledge of the Group at large and of the cane industry in general, both locally and internationally. He has a good entrepreneurship spirit and innovative leadership, having been one of the founders of the Group’s property development under the IRS scheme at Anahita as well as playing an important part in the internationalisation process of Alteo over the years.

P. Arnaud Dalais is the Chairman of the CIEL Group and, as such, chairs the Boards of CIEL Limited and CIEL Textile Ltd. He plays an active role at the level of the Mauritian private sector and has assumed the Chairmanship of a number of organisations, including the Joint Economic Council from 2000 to 2002 and Business Mauritius from 2015 to 2017.

Amédée Darga is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Mauritius. He is the Managing Partner of Straconsult, a Social Science Researcher, the Chairman of SEATINI (Southern & Eastern Africa Trade Information Network Initiative), and Chairman of the Mauritius Africa Business Club. Amédée Darga has served as Minister of Housing, Lands, Town and Country Planning for 2 years, and previously occupied numerous positions such as Mayor of Curepipe.

He was a Member of Parliament from 1976 at the age of 26. He is a regular resource person to the United Nations, on matters of governance and economic development.

Jérôme de Chasteauneuf is a Chartered Accountant of England and Wales, and holds a BSc Honours in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK (1989). He joined the CIEL Group in 1993 as Corporate Finance Advisor and became Head of Finance of the CIEL Group in 2000. He was nominated Group Finance Director of CIEL in January 2017. He has been closely involved with the sugar industry by acting as Head of Finance of Deep River- Beau Champ Limited for several years.

He also serves on the board of Alteo Agri Ltd (previously known as Alteo Limited) as Director since 2014, and acts as Director on the boards of other Alteo subsidiaries. He is currently Chairman of Sucrière des Mascareignes Ltd, the Mauritius holding company of the Tanzanian and Kenyan sugar operations.

Fabien de Marassé Enouf holds a Bcom (Accounting and Finance) from Curtin University, Australia, and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2004. He joined the Corporate Finance practice of PwC Mauritius in 2005. As Senior Manager at PwC, he has advised clients across a variety of sectors on business valuations, M&A and finance raising projects and has regularly been involved in stock market related transactions. Fabien de Marassé Enouf joined Alteo in January 2014 as Chief Finance Executive.

Sheila Ujoodha is the Managing Director of SmarTree Consulting Ltd with 20 years of hands-on experience in internal audit, risk management, corporate governance and process improvement on both the local and international market.

Sheila Ujoodha is the Managing Director of SmarTree Consulting Ltd with 20 years of hands-on experience in internal audit, risk management, corporate governance and process improvement on both the local and international market.

Sheila’s participation extends to the Audit Committee Forum (ACF) established by the MIoD and KPMG to help Audit Committees in Mauritius improve their effectiveness, where she is presently the Chairperson. She also holds independent non-executive directorship at the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD).

Sheila was awarded the CMO Africa Woman Leadership Award in 2017 for her contribution as a business leader alluring her best in the professional field. In 2019, she was conferred the Africa Impact Leadership Award at the SADC Women Forum and was induced into the SADC Women Leaders Hall of Fame.

She joined British American Tobacco (Mauritius) as the Internal Audit Manager in 2001. In March 2005, she was employed as General Manager of the Risk & Audit Department of Rogers Group and was subsequently appointed as Chief Risk & Audit Executive in 2007. Sheila joined the Cim Group in the same capacity in October 2012 to February 2018.

Robert Baissac holds a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture from the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He joined the Group in 1984 as Assistant Agronomist of Deep River Beau Champ Ltd and was then appointed Agronomist in charge of diversification in 1985. In 1987, he joined Mon Tresor Mon Desert S.E as Agronomist and in 1991, was appointed Field Manager of Compagnie de Beau Vallon Ltée. Since 2000, Robert Baissac is the CEO of TPC Limited in Tanzania.

Arnaud d’Unienville holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Surrey, England, UK. He joined the Group on July 1, 2017 as Designate COO, and was then appointed COO of Alteo Agri Ltd in January 2018. He counts more than 30 years’ experience in the sugar industry, mostly regionally, in many African countries, but also locally. In Africa, Arnaud was the Directeur Technique de Sucrivoire in Ivory Coast, from 2000 to 2005. He has spent 12 years working as Directeur du Parc Matériel and Directeur Technique Machinisme Agricole for the SOMDIAA Group.

Stéphane Isautier holds a Masters degree in Agronomy from the Institut National Agronomique, Paris (1993). Stephane thereafter spent 5 years in the audit department of Arthur Andersen Paris, where he acquired a strong financial and corporate background. Over the last seventeen years, Stéphane pursued his career in the sugar industry and occupied various executive functions in cane and beet sugar processing units successively in Vietnam, Czech Republic, Reunion Island, Mozambique, Brazil and France. Stéphane joined Alteo in February 2015 as Development Executive and will henceforth lead the Group’s initiatives to become a regional player in the cane and sugar industries.

Sébastien Lavoipierre holds a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Natal (South Africa) and an MBA from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Business School. He joined Les Gaz Industriels in 1998 as Production Manager and then held a senior management position at Ireland Blyth Limited from 2003 to 2006. He was the Project Manager of the MCFI Group from 2007 to 2008 and Business Development Manager of the Harel Mallac Group in 2009. In 2010, he was promoted to the position of Managing Director of the Chemical arm of the Harel Mallac Group. Sébastien joined Alteo in August 2013 where he is currently the Chief Operations Officer of the Industrial Activities in Mauritius.

Patrice Legris holds a Master in Economic and Social Administration from Sorbonne, Paris, as well as a Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Mauritius. CEO of Alteo Properties Ltd since April 2012, with a career spanning over three decades, Patrice has several milestones that are worth highlighting in the Sugar, Hospitality & Tourism and Real Estate sectors. He is the Chairperson of the Social Capital Commission, one of the three strategic commissions supported by Business Mauritius. He was a member of several committees, such as Tripartite Committee on Wage Compensation, Mauritius Tourism and Promotion Authority, Tourism Fund and Tourism Employee Welfare Fund. Patrice was previously CEO of l’AHRIM (Association des Hoteliers et Restaurateurs de l’Ile Maurice) and a former Director of the Mauritius Sugar Producers Associations (MSPA).

Jean-Robert Lincoln holds a BSc in Crop Science from Natal University, South Africa (1983), a Certificate in Sugar Agriculture from the South African Sugar Association (1984), a Certificate in Agricultural Water Management from Cranfield University, UK (1990), and an MBA from the University of Surrey, UK (1997). He joined the Company in 1985. Initially involved with sugarcane operations in Mauritius, he occupied various responsibilities within Agronomy and Research & Development (R&D). He has, over the last 20 years, been playing a more active role in evaluating and developing agricultural opportunities abroad and is currently Group Agricultural Development Executive. Jean-Robert also represents the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture on the R&D Committee of the Mauritius Sugarcane Industry Research Institute (MSIRI), and serves as an Agronomy Section committee member of the International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (ISSCT).

David Martial holds a Masters in Communication from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France. He started his career at the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) before being appointed Group Communication Manager of CIEL in 2006. From 2006 to 2010, he was involved in many projects & investments of the CIEL Group in different sectors such as agro-industry, textile, investment and property, including the initial development phases of Anahita. David thereafter pursued his career in the tourism and hospitality sector at the Mauritian hotel groups Sun Resorts and Veranda Leisure Hospitality (VLH) as Group Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing & Business Development respectively. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Managing Partner of Hospitality Plus, a company specialised in digital marketing and reservations solutions for the hospitality and travel sector in Africa and the Indian Ocean region. David joined Alteo in September 2016 to manage the Group’s communication strategy and to evaluate new business development opportunities in Mauritius. In 2017, David was appointed as Commercial and Development Director of Alteo Properties Ltd.

Frederick North-Coombes holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He started his career in 1995 as Factory Superintendent at Union Saint Aubin Milling Company Ltd in Mauritius. Frederick joined the Group in 2006 as Mechanical Project Engineer in TPC and later on as Assistant Factory Executive in TPC. He counts a fruitful experience of 18 years in the sugar industry and 10 years at TPC, both in the Industrial and Garage departments. Frederick was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Transmara as from 1st May 2017.

Sophie Strauss holds a Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Guildhall in the UK and has a Fellow Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She joined the Group in August 2015 after spending 10 years with the Nestlé Group based in the UK. She was appointed as the Head of Human Resources for Nestlé Waters UK in 2010. Prior to this, her role was Lead Human Resources Business Partner in the beverage category. Before her time in FMCG, Sophie spent 7 years with Compass Group Plc based in the UK - focusing on HR management in contract catering and the food retail sector in both railway stations and airports. Her operational experience and expertise lends itself to the focus required in terms of the overall human resources strategy for the Group.

Marius Jacobs qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa in 1997 whilst working for EY. He spent the next chapter of his life in Johannesburg working for a variety of American multinationals in the FMCG sector. With 10 years’ experience at TPC Limited, Marius is well versed in the complexities of operating in Tanzania and has a good working knowledge of local institutions. He has been designated to take on the CEO role upon Robert Baissac’s retirement.
